S&P downgrades 34 Italian banks
The Rating agency Standard & Poor's said Friday it cut the rating of 34 Italy-based financial institutions, out of 37 that the agency covers.
"The downgrades follow the lowering of the unsolicited long- and short-term sovereign credit ratings on the Republic of Italy (BBB+/Negative/A-2)", reads the official statement.
Downgrades include UniCredit SpA, Intesa Sanpaolo SpA, Banca IMI SpA, Banca Infrastrutture Innovazione e Sviluppo SpA (BIIS), Banca Nazionale del Lavoro SpA, among others.
